The car is loaded with custom features, including a rolled rear pan, frenched headlights, peep mirrors, 1957 Cadillac hubcaps, and Diamond wide white wall tires. Notable custom touches include triple lake pipes, a shaved and peaked hood, dummy spotlights with push-button door poppers, a rare 1953 Desoto front grille, shaved trunk deck, bubble skirts for the rear wheels, and 1959 Cadillac taillights.
Equipped with Vintage Air for cold A/C, power seats, an IDIDIT tilt steering column, and a Lokar shifter for control, this Mercury ensures a comfortable and stylish ride. The 1949 Mercury dash features rebuilt and updated gauges with bright white lighting, complemented by additional interior lighting with a red glow option.
The trunk mirrors the interior’s custom finishing with new carpeting. Under the hood, custom fabricated sheet metal is a testament to the attention to detail. The engine compartment features a custom air cleaner, inner fender covers, and polished or chromed components for a show-stopping look.
Power is derived from a Chevy 350 V8, mated to a TH-350 automatic transmission, sending power to a Ford 9″ rear end. The build includes new engine and transmission mounts, Fatman Fabrications stage two power rack and pinion steering, front and rear sway bars, a new gas tank, electric fuel pump, and a new wiring harness. The mechanical work was completed by Fatman Fabrications in Charlotte.
